£54.85

Class 4 test · repairs quoted separately

What to know

An MOT does not measure your traction battery’s remaining capacity. Choose a battery health check if that is your concern. Other MOT classes are quoted separately.

£170.00

04 / KNOW YOUR BATTERY

Battery Health Check

A clearer picture of your EV’s traction battery, for confidence in ownership.

£45.00

Supported vehicles · method confirmed on booking

  • Available battery health data reviewed
  • Clear summary of findings
  • Practical advice on your next steps
What does the check tell me?

This is a traction battery check, rather than a 12V battery test. Results depend on your vehicle and the available test method. It is not a guarantee of future range or a warranty decision; a deeper capacity test may need a separate quote.

05 / UNDERSTAND THE WARNING

EV Diagnostics

Warning light or charging concern? Start with a fault-code check.

£45.00

Initial fault-code check

  • Read accessible fault codes & explain findings
  • Further investigation quoted before proceeding
What is included?

The entry price covers an initial fault-code scan and explanation on compatible vehicles. It does not include all fault-finding, software updates or repairs. We agree the next stage and cost with you first.

06 / ASSESS FIRST

Battery Rebalancing

Concerned about uneven cell charge? Let’s establish the right next step.

Vehicle-specific quote

Following suitability assessment

  • Assessment of available cell-balance data
  • Supported procedures only, with cost agreed first
Is this right for my EV?

We first check whether imbalance is present and whether a supported procedure is appropriate. Balancing cannot reverse battery degradation or repair a damaged cell. Availability depends on the vehicle, equipment and manufacturer procedure.

MS

Battery health, without the jargon

Less range?
Start with answers.

Cold weather, driving conditions and battery condition can all affect range. A battery health check helps you understand what the vehicle can tell us before deciding on further work.

Why can cell balance matter?

Your battery contains many cells. If their charge levels drift apart, one can reach its limit before the others, restricting how much stored energy the pack can use.

The vehicle’s battery management system manages cell balancing. Workshop intervention is only appropriate where assessment and a supported manufacturer procedure justify it.

Rebalancing and range-display calibration are different. Neither should be sold as a guaranteed way to restore a worn battery.

A little reassurance

Your questions.
Clear answers.

Does my electric vehicle still need an MOT?

Yes. Electric vehicles require MOT testing according to their vehicle class and use. Our displayed price is for a Class 4 test. A battery capacity assessment is a separate service.

Can I have my EV serviced without an MOT?

Yes. Choose EV Full Service Health Check at £170.00 or EV Major Service at £227.95. Major Service includes a brake fluid change, pollen filter replacement and battery health check. We confirm suitability and service requirements before booking.

Will you do additional work without asking?

No. We explain additional findings and agree the work and cost with you before proceeding.

Do you work on electric vans?

We welcome electric van enquiries. Tell us the registration so we can confirm vehicle size, MOT class, service requirements and equipment compatibility.

Is a battery health check the same as rebalancing?

No. A health check assesses available information about battery condition. Rebalancing addresses uneven charge between cells where appropriate. We assess first and only quote a supported procedure.

Is this a manufacturer-scheduled service?

These are our EV maintenance packages. Manufacturer schedules differ, so we review your vehicle’s requirements and explain any additional items needed. We do not promise that either menu package replaces every manufacturer-specified service.
