One workshop. Three touring routes.

The right solution starts with what you drive.

A motorhome, a rear-door campervan and a touring caravan create very different mounting, loading and access challenges. We assess the complete outfit before recommending hardware.

Low-loading chassis-mounted Memo M-Star e-bike carrier
Load lower. Tour easier.A well-specified carrier should make every arrival simpler — not turn heavy e-bikes into a lifting challenge.
More than a rack on the back

The best carrier is the one that works with your whole vehicle.

Bike weight, loading height, rear access, overhang, lighting, chassis support and payload all affect the right choice. We turn those variables into one clear fitment route.

Heavy e-bikes can be loaded lower, with optional ramps on selected systems.
Folding, removable and access-preserving options can reduce day-to-day compromise.
Carrier, brackets, chassis work, number-plate lighting and electrics are quoted as one project.
The published rack rating is checked against the vehicle’s actual axle, payload and structural limits.

A dedicated route for touring caravans

Carry the bikes without compromising the outfit.

Caravan bike transport needs a different conversation. We consider the caravan, the tow car, bike weight, noseweight, payload, clearances and manufacturer approval before recommending where the bikes should travel.

A-frame routePotentially convenient on suitable caravans, but bike and carrier weight increase noseweight and may affect locker access and turning clearance.
Approved rear routeConsidered only where the caravan manufacturer has designed or approved the mounting and the loading remains within the outfit’s limits.
Tow-car routeRoof, towbar or vehicle-mounted carriers may be the safer, more practical answer where caravan fitment would harm balance or exceed limits.
Important: rear-mounted caravan racks are not a universal solution. Manufacturer approval, stability, payload and loading position must be checked; heavy e-bikes can make the rear route unsuitable.

Vehicle-specific motorhome towbar systems

Carrier, towbar and chassis — designed as one system.

A coachbuilt motorhome is not simply the base van underneath it. We inspect the complete rear structure and specify the mounting, extension, bracing, socket and lighting route together.

Questions before you choose

Fitment answers that protect your vehicle and your holiday.

Why choose a chassis-mounted carrier for a motorhome?
It can provide a lower loading position and transfer the installation through a suitable chassis or reinforced extension. That can be especially useful for heavy e-bikes, but the chassis, rear axle, payload and overhang still need to be assessed.
Can I carry four e-bikes?
The Memo Zorro 4Bike is published for up to four bikes and a 150kg carrier rating. The actual permissible load may be lower once carrier weight, rear-axle effect, payload, chassis and bike weights are checked.
Will a carrier fit every AL-KO chassis?
No. Chassis width, extension type, body overhang, services, bumper construction, axle margin and the conversion all matter. Additional approved extensions or bracing may be required.
Can a towbar and carrier be fitted as one project?
Where the vehicle supports it, the carrier, towbar, chassis extension, bracing and electrics can be assessed together. We will explain which functions can be combined on the specific vehicle.
Can you fit a bike carrier to a touring caravan?
Sometimes, but not by treating it like a motorhome. We assess manufacturer approval, mounting points, caravan payload, noseweight, loading position, locker and turning clearance, stability and the tow car. A tow-car carrier may be the better route.
Why is rear-axle loading so important?
Weight behind the rear axle creates leverage, so the effect at the axle can be greater than the simple carrier-plus-bike total. Rear overhang and current axle weights are therefore part of the fitment check.
Can I carry a scooter and bikes together?
Selected M-Classic and Zorro configurations support scooter-and-bike layouts. Exact weights, wheelbase, tyre width and dimensions are needed before rails, supports, ramp and permissible load can be specified.
Can I still open my campervan’s rear doors?
Selected pivoting, retractable or swing-away routes may preserve rear-door access. Suitability depends on the base vehicle, conversion, door swing, bumper, sensors, step and the intended bike load.
Are lights and a number-plate bar included?
Where the carrier obscures the vehicle’s lights or registration plate, a suitable lighting and number-plate arrangement is specified, with the appropriate electrical connection as part of the installation.
Can the carrier fold or be removed when not in use?
The M-Star, Zorro 4Bike and Zorro Scooter ranges include folding functionality, and selected systems can be removed without tools. Exact folded dimensions and clearances depend on the carrier and vehicle.

Request a Compatibility check

Required fields are marked *. Add exact bike weights and useful photographs in WhatsApp after the message opens. We may need to know more about the vehicle’s specific details to ensure compatibility. In some cases additional brackets will need to be purchased. Incorrect fitting without the correct parts could deem your warranty and any subsequent claim invalid.
