Rear sagging
The rear sits low when loaded with water, bikes, luggage or touring equipment.

Vehicle-specific VB suspension, handling, hydraulic levelling and GVW uprating guidance for motorhomes and campervans — from rear support upgrades to fully automatic four-corner air suspension.
Guide prices are vehicle-dependent and subject to appraisal. “From” package prices shown by VB-Airsuspension UK include installation and VAT where stated; GVW uprating is shown separately plus VAT.
Motorhome conversions place very different demands on suspension originally developed for a commercial base vehicle. The right upgrade can restore ride height, support changing loads and improve the way the vehicle behaves on real roads.
The rear sits low when loaded with water, bikes, luggage or touring equipment.
Roundabouts, corners, braking and uneven roads create excessive vehicle movement.
The vehicle feels nervous in exposed conditions or when passing larger traffic.
Road impacts, vibration and rattles make longer journeys uncomfortable and tiring.
Ramps, blocks and repeated repositioning make arrival slower and less convenient.
You need to understand whether a legal GVW uprate and supporting hardware are possible.
These routes are a starting point only. Final suitability depends on the exact base vehicle, chassis, model year, axle configuration, current weights and options.
The exact kit and labour requirement are vehicle-specific. These guide prices help you identify the right level of solution before we complete compatibility checks and a formal quotation.
Vehicle-specific front coil spring support for a permanent, mechanical upgrade.
Auxiliary rear air springs adjusted using an external air supply.
Rear auxiliary air support with an onboard compressor and digital control.
VB-SemiAir rear support with VB-CoilSpring front support where required.
Balanced suspension support plus optimised shock absorbers or adaptive damping by application.
Rear suspension replacement with automatic ride-height control on compatible vehicles.
Four-jack, chassis-friendly automatic levelling for compatible motorhomes and campervans.
Four-corner fully automatic air suspension with dedicated motorhome functions.
Technical uprating review and document pack for a suitable motorhome or campervan.

VB-SemiAir fits air springs between the chassis and rear axle on suitable leaf-sprung vehicles. It supports the original suspension rather than replacing it, and its dual-chamber design allows left and right pressure to be adjusted separately.
Pressurised using an external air source such as a tyre inflator. Simple and cost-conscious.
from £1,195*Onboard compressor and cab control allow convenient left/right adjustment.
from £1,845*A permanent mechanical spring upgrade can solve a specific front-axle problem. Pairing front support with adjustable rear air assistance creates a more balanced starting point for loaded motorhomes and campervans.

Vehicle-specific reinforced or replacement coil springs provide permanent support. Unlike an air system, there is no manual or automatic adjustment: the spring rate is fixed and always working.

The Essentials Pack combines front VB-CoilSpring support with rear VB-SemiAir where required. It is designed to restore ride height, improve support under load and create a more balanced driving feel.

The Comfort & Handling Pack combines vehicle-specific suspension support with optimised shock absorbers or adaptive damping, depending on the application. Front support, rear adjustability and controlled damping work together to settle the vehicle.

VB-FullAir automatically adapts ride height to load and driving conditions. FullAir 2C replaces the rear suspension on compatible vehicles; FullAir 4C replaces the suspension across all four corners for the highest level of integration, comfort and functionality.
Automatic rear-axle air suspension for improved comfort, rear support and load-dependent ride height.
selected applications from £5,895*Complete four-corner air suspension with dedicated motorhome software and height functions.
from £9,195 installed*SHR is a separate four-jack hydraulic levelling system selected by VB-Airsuspension UK. It is designed around vehicle-specific mounting points and a reinforced subframe, avoiding chassis drilling or modification on the approved applications.
A suspension upgrade can support a heavier operating condition, but it does not by itself change the plated Gross Vehicle Weight. Uprating requires technical approval, the correct vehicle configuration and a document pack for the DVLA process.
We need to understand the motorhome’s existing plated weights, axle limits, suspension, wheels, tyres and intended payload before identifying whether an uprate route is available.
Once the appropriate suspension and vehicle requirements are satisfied, the dealer submits the uprate order and the resulting pack contains the documents needed for the customer’s DVLA application.
This table helps separate auxiliary support, complete air-suspension replacement and hydraulic levelling. It is not a compatibility confirmation.

That requires more than fitting a generic air-bag kit. It means understanding base vehicles, chassis arrangements, axle loading, ride height, component compatibility, control systems and the customer’s real touring requirements.
Regular advanced VB-Airsuspension training is ongoing to maintain manufacturer compliance and ensure our technicians’ accreditation and certification remain current.
High-value suspension work should begin with evidence. The more accurate the vehicle information, the faster we can confirm compatibility and narrow the quotation.
Registration, VIN if available, make, model, year and base vehicle.
Tell us about sag, roll, comfort, ground clearance, levelling, payload and how you tour.
We assess chassis, axle arrangement, suspension type and relevant manufacturer applications.
Where required, we verify ride height, condition, axle loads, tyres and existing equipment.
Suitable work is scheduled with a clear scope, options, lead time, handover and support route.
No. SemiAir is an auxiliary air-assist system that supports the original rear leaf springs and is adjusted manually or by an onboard controller. VB-FullAir replaces the relevant original suspension with an automatically controlled air-suspension system.
No. Suspension can be part of a technical uprating route, but the legal plated Gross Vehicle Weight does not change until the vehicle has been approved, the required modifications are complete and the DVLA/document process has been concluded.
FullAir 4C can level the vehicle within its available suspension travel where AutoLevel is specified. SHR hydraulic levelling uses four jacks to lift, level and rigidly stabilise the vehicle on a pitch. The systems have different functions and correction ranges.
VB’s headline prices for the Essentials Pack, Comfort & Handling Pack and FullAir 4C are stated as including installation and VAT. SHR is stated as including VAT and professional installation. Individual kit listings and vehicle options vary, so our formal quote will confirm the exact basis. GVW uprating is shown as £375 plus VAT and excludes any required hardware.
Sometimes the registration provides a useful starting point, but we may also need the VIN, base vehicle, model year, AL-KO or original chassis details, axle configuration, photographs, current ride height and axle-weight information.
The VB range covers many Fiat Ducato, Peugeot Boxer, Citroën Relay, Ford Transit, Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, Volkswagen Crafter, MAN TGE, Iveco Daily and AL-KO-based applications, as well as numerous motorhome makes. Compatibility remains model- and year-specific.
Yes. Our technicians have completed the VB-Airsuspension manufacturer pathway, achieving accreditation and certification. Regular advanced training remains ongoing to maintain manufacturer compliance and keep their technical knowledge current.
Our workshop is at Thurton on the A146 near Norwich. We welcome motorhome and campervan owners from Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Essex and across the wider East of England.
The form captures the details needed for a useful first review. Add the VIN, current axle weights or photographs later by WhatsApp if the team requests them.
No generic catalogue quote. We will use the vehicle information to identify the most relevant route and next step.
