Why we ask you to complete this

A wet-belt replacement repairs the belt system. It cannot retrospectively repair internal damage that may already have occurred because of previous oil starvation, contamination, overheating, poor maintenance or another mechanical condition.

⚙️

Belt deterioration

Belt material can deteriorate or shed into the engine oil. The condition may be influenced by oil quality, contamination and service history.

🛢️

Lubrication risk

Debris or contamination can affect the lubrication system. An engine can have internal wear before a belt replacement is carried out.

🔍

Latent damage

A normal wet-belt replacement is not a complete internal-engine strip-down or bearing inspection, so some pre-existing damage may not be detectable.

🌡️

Overheating history

Previous overheating, coolant loss or lubrication problems can cause independent engine damage even if the vehicle is still running.

📋

Service history matters

Missing or overdue servicing, uncertain oil specification and previous engine repairs can increase the level of technical uncertainty.

Important: Completing this questionnaire is not a waiver of your legal rights. It records the history known to you, explains the scope and limitations of the wet-belt service and allows TAC to identify vehicles that may require additional investigation.

Wet Belt Pre-Repair Questionnaire

Please answer accurately. If you genuinely do not know an answer, select "Unknown" rather than guessing.

1. Customer details

We use these details to identify the booking and send your completed copy.

2. Vehicle details

Please enter the information from the vehicle or your booking paperwork.

3. Service & mechanical history

Select Yes, No or Unknown for every question.

4. Customer acknowledgement

Please confirm each statement before submitting.

Key limitation: A vehicle being capable of driving or running before the wet-belt replacement does not by itself prove that internal engine components are free from pre-existing wear or damage.

Privacy: the information entered here is used for your vehicle repair enquiry/booking, workshop risk assessment and record keeping. Configure the submission endpoint to store and email the record in accordance with TAC's privacy policy and retention requirements.
